This course will concentrate on the theories and history of early childhood constructivist science activities. Content will include the creation and completion of hands-on, inquiry-based science activities and observation assessment techniques. The approaches reflect the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) early learning standards, the Maine Early Learning Guidelines (MELG), and the National Science Education Standards (NSES) on scientific inquiry.
