EDLD 503ME Organizational Theory and Planning

From theory to practice, this course will present a readable, teachable, relevant, and timely look at educational leadership and organizational behavior. This course will be aligned with the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards with a strong focus on how to translate the theory into practice. Students will examine historical, contemporary, scholarly, and research-supported ideas about leadership in organizations (particularly schools) and shows their relevance in actual practice. Students will explore the meaning and professional relevance of the leadership topics and see how to apply those ideas to their actual work settings, now or in the future. Leadership behaviors will be looked at through case studies and personal experiences by the author.
